Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. She has performed on Broadway and during the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's given title is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician playing and singing at the church in town. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You a House 12, came out only in Japan. It has been remixed several times, and has become a staple in her live performance. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. She became the primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2008 inauguration.
